What is a Transfer?

A college athlete transfer is when a student-athlete moves from one college to another while continuing to participate in collegiate sports. This decision can be driven by factors like seeking a different athletic program, better academic opportunities, or personal circumstances. The transfer process involves notifying the current institution, obtaining permission if required, and enrolling in and joining the athletic program at the new school. Specific rules and regulations, varying by sports association and division level, govern athlete transfers. Athletes may need to fulfill eligibility requirements, including a potential "redshirt" year before competing for the new school. These rules aim to maintain fairness and protect academic progress in collegiate sports.

When should I Transfer?

Making the decision to transfer is an extremely difficult decision for any athlete, luckily our team is here to help.

If you find yourself unhappy or without a place on your programme after unforeseen circumstances, then we can offer assistance and guidance to help you get back on the right track.

What is the Transfer Portal?

The Transfer Portal is the official way to initiate a transfer. A transfer profile of your achievements, previous colleges and your stats will be listed and coaches from across the US will be able to bid on you.

When will coaches bid on me?

As soon as your profile is active on the transfer portal coaches can start to bid on you. The number and quickness of bids is totally unique to you, we unfortunately cannot put a time on this.

What does the process look like?

Unfortunately when it comes to transfers there is no one size fits all and the process will be entirely dependant on your own personal situation.
